実際に真っ赤になった富士を見たのは、精進湖に朝焼けの紅富士を見に出かけた時、前の晩雨が降ってどうなることかと思ったが、朝方、東の空から赤く染まってきた記憶が残っている。あとは小山町、富士川や大磯などでも夜明けまえに出かけ色が刻々と変化していくのを

スケッチしに出かけたのもついこの間のようだ。イメージの色に近い現実のあか富士を一度はどこかで見てみたいと思う。

The first time I actually saw Mount Fuji turn bright red was when I went to Lake Shoji to see the crimson Fuji at sunrise. I remember thinking the night before that it might be ruined because it had rained, but in the early morning, the eastern sky started to turn red. I also remember heading out before dawn to Kokoyama Town, the Fuji River, and Oiso to sketch how the colors changed moment by moment, as if it were just the other day. I hope to see the real crimson Fuji, close to the colors in my imagination, at least once somewhere.
