春の桜の時期の満月の夜、そのひとときは、なにものにも変えられない風情のある千金にも値するほどすばらしい。という「春宵一刻値千金」～中国北宋時代の詩人、蘇軾の漢詩「春夜」の中の一節からきている。

春桜の咲いている満月の夜に、家族と夜桜を見ながら散策したことがある。そんなに肌寒くもなく月明かりに浮かぶほんのりピンクがかった桜がとても幻想的な雰囲気を醸し出してい

る。そんな風情を作品で表現してみたい。と思いこのシリーズを制作している。描くごとに桜の色は、変化する。というかその都度、その時のイメージによって桜の色も背景に使う色も変化する。

A full moon night during the spring cherry blossom season is a moment so wonderful it's priceless, with an irreplaceable elegance. "A moment of spring evening is worth a thousand gold coins," says the phrase, taken from a line in the Chinese poem "Spring Night" by Su Shi, a poet from the Northern Song Dynasty.

I once took a stroll with my family on a full moon night when the spring cherry blossoms were in bloom, admiring the blossoms. It wasn't too chilly, and the faint pink of the blossoms floating in the moonlight created a truly mystical atmosphere. I wanted to capture that feeling in my work, and that's why I created this series. The color of the cherry blossoms changes with each painting. Or rather, the color of the cherry blossoms and the color used in the background change each time depending on the image I have at the time.
